Also a collection of fine art works created by some of Chicago’s most talented young scenic, lighting, and costume designers. Both collections take the theatrical work of these artists as a starting point and move on to explore their range of artistic interests and visions

 

The Building Stage has earned a reputation for having one of the strongest visual aesthetics in Chicago's Off-Loop theater scene. Their "gorgeously spare productions have a sleek, industrial-loft sort of beauty that, like modern art, conveys meaning through sheer line." The company’s latest creation, a unique adaptation of the classic vampire myth Dracula in a production inspired by silent films and graphic novels

Chicago Sculpture Works facilitates a creative exchange amongst the artists and with the community. Founded by sculptor Jim Brenner, the collective of working artists seeks to support the mechanics of producing art through shared equipment, promotions, and knowledge.

Each member of Chicago Sculpture Works has a private studio plus access to a common work area with tools, and equipment. Artists are promoted through studio publicity efforts as well as group exhibition opportunities.
